Professional Surveillance Cameras
Unlike hidden spy cameras, professional surveillance cameras are mounted where people see them and hopefully cause a deterrent for them not to steal or do anything bad, such as vandalism to your company or property if they know they are being watched.
Professional surveillance cameras can be mounted on the wall, buildings, outdoors or in. Professional surveillance cameras are usually high resolution therefore have a sharp image with great features and details.
There are hundreds of styles of professional surveillance cameras to choose from. There is the flexible snake camera, for reaching into tight spaces; bullet cameras, which zero in on a subject and follows that one person only; rotating cameras, which follow people around the building; various dome cameras which allow for an assortment of views; flat and cone lens board screen which only allow for a single view, just to name a few. So matching your taste, style or dcor should not be a problem.
Professional surveillance cameras are the most common and widely used monitoring devices used today. They can be found in both large and small businesses; big chain supermarkets or super centers; hospitals and various places in any downtown, both big and small. The professional surveillance cameras are placed around town for your protection and safely as well as a deterrent to criminal experts wanting to take advantage of someone walking to their car alone at night. They are hooked up, thorough Internet feed, to police stations and hired security guards who monitor them day and night.
Along with professional surveillance cameras, there are three types of video voice recording systems to choose from: the digital video recorder (DVR), the VCR and the VISEC security surveillance software.
Unlike VCRs, DVRs record video to the hard drive of a computer or other media such as a CD or DVD. This makes the DVR easy to maintain because there are no bulky tapes to change or the risk of losing video quality when recording over previous footage. Except for the World’s Smallest DVR, all other DVRs can be operated and monitored remotely from anywhere in the world using the Internet. While the professional surveillance video data is stored on the DVR it can be protected from loss caused by operating errors, tampering and accidents.
VCRs record to a video cassette tape which creates the need to change tapes. There are VCRs with time-lapse and video motion detection features. Video motion diction allows the VCR to begin recording only while motion is detected. Time-lapse is a series of images taken in a set number of time intervals. This means that not every frame is recorded as it is with Real Time. Time-lapse and motion detection help save space on your video tapes.
VISEC is a name brand software that is installed on an existing computer you own. VISEC turns that computer into a surveillance system. You can connect up to four cameras to the computer and the video can be set-up to record to your computer, VISEC’s server or an FTP site. However, you can view your professional surveillance cameras from any Internet access computer in the world with just a few clicks. VISEC is designed to be highly configurable, and Visec is extremely easy to use, installation and configuration will take only 5 minutes, even at a novice or newbie’s hands. All that for just a fraction of a regular security system price. VISEC can also be run in hidden mode, which means that anyone using your computer would not know its running.
When purchasing any software for your professional surveillance camera, make use you know the companies policy on upgrades. If a new upgrade is coming out in a few weeks, will you have to purchase and install a new one? Or will the company you are renting or buying the system from do it for you? This is something to consider for the pros and cons of renting a professional surveillance camera system verses purchasing and maintaining a system yourself.
If your budget is a concern when it comes to professional surveillance systems, there are several companies out there that provide the professional surveillance looking cameras, call dummy dome cameras and you only pay for the installation. The dummys are real, but they dont have any of the working parts except the movement and they have a flashing LCD light to make it look as if the camera is working. This gadget is a best seller for places that dont have people in them such as farm barns or warehousing.
Professional surveillance cameras are all around us whether people like it or not. And some people say Big Brother is watching our every move. Most people dont even notice the professional surveillance cameras and go about their daily business. Others are thankful they are their for safety reasons for themselves and their loved ones.
